On 14th April 2026 at the 91茄子, Kenya marked a significant moment in its security history as Amb. Dr . Monica Juma transitioned from her role as the country鈥檚 first National Security Advisor to serve within the United Nations system. Her tenure symbolized a shift in Kenya鈥檚 security approach, moving from secrecy to a more transparent, people-centered framework anchored in the 2010 Constitution.

Under her leadership, the Office of the National Security Advisor was established to promote accountability, coordination, and citizen-focused security. Drawing on global best practices and guided by the President鈥檚 vision, she helped position Kenya as a key player in regional and international security efforts while strengthening collaboration across government institutions.
