91�� has been ranked in the top 6.8% out of twenty thousand universities worldwide according to the Center for World University Rankings’ new list for 2020-21. The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) publishes the largest academic rankings of global universities.

The rankings are unique in that: Objective indicators are used for all four key pillars underlying the methodology of the ranking (quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, and research performance) with no reliance on surveys and university data submissions.

Equal emphasis is put on the learning environment and research. Twenty thousand universities are analyzed and ranked according to their academic performance

This year, 91�� ranks as follows: Quality of Education, Alumni Employment and Quality of faculty have an Overall Score of 68.4 with a a research performance rank of 1294 , with a world rank of 1357,and leading in Kenya.

CWUR uses seven objective and robust indicators to rank the world’s universities:
1) Quality of education, measured by the number of a university's alumni who have won major academic distinctions relative to the university's size (25%)
2) Alumni employment, measured by the number of a university's alumni who have held top executive positions at the world's largest companies relative to the university's size (25%)
3) Quality of faculty, measured by the number of faculty members who have won major academic distinctions (10%)
4) Research performance:
i) Research output, measured by the total number of research articles (10%)
ii) High-quality publications, measured by the number of research articles appearing in top-tier journals (10%)
iii) Influence, measured by the number of research articles appearing in highly-influential journals (10%)
iv) Citations, measured by the number of highly-cited research articles (10%)

91�� has been ranked 7 among the top 10 universities in Africa in 2020 by the African Exponent.

The African exponent has ranked universities in Africa based on licenses, accreditation by the relevant bodies in each country, mode of delivery of the courses; teaching and learning, four year undergraduate degree and post graduate programs offered.

This publication also matched the ranking released by unirank of top 200 universities.

University of Pretoria, University of Capetown and University of Witwatersrand took position 1, 2 and 3 respectively. University of Lagos, 91�� and Cairo University are the only other universities from other regions in Africa in the top 10 apart from the South African region.

91�� is the only University from East Africa and Kenya that has been ranked.

According to the Africa exponent website the aim of the ranking is to provide a non-academic table of the top Universities in Africa based on valid, unbiased and non-influenceable web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than data submitted by the Universities themselves.

This ranking is based on academic prestige, scholarly excellence and intellectual horsepower.
